EGDA 2025

Educational games are used for entertainment and increasingly influence school education and corporate training. Gamification enhances people's motivation to engage in various activities. Over time, board games, digital games, and escape game have developed significant potential in education.

As teaching methods continue to evolve, more and more educational games are being designed, published, and introduced. Teachers and instructors are also applying gamification principles to create engaging educational activities, resulting in gamified lesson plans. However, with such a diverse range of educational games and gamified lesson plans, their content and mechanisms must align with cognitive theories and interactive methods that promote effective learning. In recent years, this aspect has drawn considerable attention from both academia and the industry. Rigorous quality assessment of educational games has become a critical factor in advancing game-based teaching, helping schools, educators, and parents select or design high-quality educational board games, real-world experience games, and digital educational games with strong cognitive design.

To support frontline educators and encourage emerging educational game designers with innovative ideas, we are hosting this International Educational Game Design Award. This event aims to promote outstanding board game projects and gamified lesson plans while making it easier for parents and educators to access the latest educational game developments. Through this award, we hope to inspire passionate educational game designers to create even better works and contribute to the global advancement of game-based learning and teaching innovation.
